Dental crowns are a versatile dental restoration used in both cosmetic and restorative procedures. Dental crowns are an artificial tooth crown that looks and function just like your natural teeth. Dental crowns can be anchored to a dental implant and used to replace a single missing tooth or designed to fit over an existing compromised or damaged tooth to prevent the need for a tooth extraction.
Dental crowns can be used to treat:
Chipped or cracked tooth
Strengthen a tooth after a root canal or to support a dental bridge
Dental crowns are custom designed out of a highly durable material. The dental crown is stain and decay resistant making for a lasting solution. The dental crown is shaped and color matched to enhance your natural smile. Dr. Overholtzer’s may fabricate your dental crown in the dental lab or use CEREC same day dental crown technology.

Dental Crowns What to Expect
All dental restorations at Skyline Family Dentistry are custom designed and fabricated at our on-site dental lab. Dr. Overholtzer oversees all phases of the restoration to ensure a precise and comfortable fit as well as a beautiful and cohesive aesthetic.
The dental crown process will vary depending on the reason for use. Some patients will receive a dental crown to secure a tooth after a root canal while others will first undergo a dental implant placement. No matter what your reason for receiving a dental crown is, Dr. Overholtzer will explain all stages of your treatment plan so you are well educated on your procedure.
CEREC Same Day Dental Crowns

CEREC dental crowns are beautiful in design, highly durable and can be used to treat a full range of dental concerns. CEREC crowns can be used to replace a missing tooth with a dental implant, build stability after a root canal or to repair a damaged or broken tooth. CEREC can also enable Dr. Overholtzer to replace a broken or lost dental crown to restore your smile in a single visit.
Patients recieve dental crowns for a variety of reasons. Patients are made to feel as comfortable as possible using a local anesthetic. If you experience dental anxiety, Dr. Overholtzer may reccomeend sedation dentistry for your optimal comfort.
