What is Bioesthetic Dentistry?

Bioesthetic dentistry is a unique approach to dental health care that focuses on a healthy and stable bite in efforts to prevent further dental concerns.

Dr. Gabriel Overholtzer practice bioesthetic dentistry. He believes that by addressing the underlying issues of the mastication system patients enjoy a more comfortable bite with less risk of developing secondary oral health issues. Dr. Overholtzer examinees the alignment of the bite and health of the jaw joint to build a treatment plan that can re-establish a more balanced bite.

Dr. Overholtzer uses the principles of bioesthetic dentistry in all aspects of dentistry. This holistic approach allows for more comprehensive treatment of any dental concern. We always work to treat the underlying functional issue of any dental concern to provide long-lasting comfort and results.

Biosthetic dentistry incorporates the use of MAGO splint therapy. MAGO splints are custom designed to realign the bite and restore the natural and healthy position of the jaw. MAGO therapy aids in muscles tension relief and reduces painful symptoms such as headaches, jaw pain, and popping and clicking- often associated with TMJ.

Maxillary anterior-guided orthosis (MAGO) treatment is the initial step in bringing the jaw back into its natural position. During treatment, the jaw and face muscles are able to relax and begin to heal. The custom designed device is worn for 24 hours a day seven days a week until the jaw is able to correct itself.

For some patients, the MAGO splint is enough to correct their jaw issues. Other patients may require additional restorative dental treatments to fully rebuild their bite for long-term results.
