Dr. Gabriel Overholtzer and his staff at Skyline Family Dentistry in Bishop are transforming the quality and options of dental treatments available to their clients and the community. With a major focus and investment in the latest technological advances, Skyline Family Dentistry is “offering people a level of service with more options,” comments Dr. Overholtzer. Their state of the art machines reflect Skyline Family Dentistry’s mission to “utilize modern efficient dentistry in a caring and friendly environment so that their patients can return to their fast-paced lives as quickly as possible.”
Dr. Overholtzer has been at the Bishop office for over a year, and in that time, he and his staff have spent extensive time and training in the use of several important pieces of dental laboratory equipment. Their latest addition is a Cerec machine which uses a state of the art 3D camera to create a digital impression of the affected tooth which is then used to create a custom fitted crown. The speed and precision of this machine allows most people to receive their new crowns the same day. “Its a huge improvement,” says Dr. Overholtzer, “and more convenient and comfortable too.”
Another technologically advanced machine is the i-CAT scan which creates a three dimensional image of the teeth and jaw bone allowing Dr. Overholtzer to better find and diagnose problems that may be overlooked or not found with traditional x-rays. This machine allows the staff to not only evaluate every tooth in the mouth but also to evaluate the jaw bone,TMJ (temporal mandibular joint) and airway for abnormalities such as oral cancers or sleep apnea. It also makes diagnosing 3rd molar (wisdom teeth) extractions easier and digitally guides implant placement surgeries.
An anesthesiologist will be joining the office soon “for those who wish to be sedated through long or complex procedures.” This mean that patients will not have to travel out of the county, saving them time and money. The Office is open early at 7:00 am, for those who would like to have their dental treatment before work, and takes most insurance plans as well as offering a payment plan option through CAre Credit. They also offer two different types of discounts for their patients.
Dr. Overholtzer is dedicated to providing the most advanced dental care in a comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. Dr. Overholtzer plans on updating the look of the office to match their updated equipment and will continue to bring “the latest and greatest” of technological advancements to the bishop area. Dr. Overholtzer is also the emergency contact for NIH and a member of the Bishop Lions Club. Living in Bishop and providing dentistry to the local community is a “dream come true” for Gabriel and his wife Nellya who are expecting their first child and look forward to raising their family here in Bishop.
